Who Am I?

Who am I and why do I deserve a website about myself? At first glance, I may appear to be simply nothing more than an egotist reveling in my 15 minutes of fame, shamelessly promoting myself. While I am promoting myself, it isn't because of pride or the need for attention that one would suspect. Simply put, I'm on a mission. I want to change the world by changing the way people look at life.

Change the world... it seems like such clichéd goal. I was hesitant to type it simply because I know the majority of people who wander across this site will stop reading right there. However, it is those few who continue on, to whom I speak.
Who am I to think I can change the world? The very idea itself is almost too large to fathom. How many people live out their lives without so much as creating a ripple in life. But what is it that those who do change the world for the better have in common? Ambition. Vision. Hope.
I don't have enough money, power, or fame, to bully an impact in the world, nor would I want to. I want to change the world by living by example. I want to show people that there is a better way to live. I want to teach people to see the bigger picture.
Again, who am I to say live like me? When I was young, I was an observant child. I watched people and how they lived. I saw people acting without thinking, simply following the trend that society laid before them. I decided that I would never give society control of my life and consciously chose to reject standards, traditions, and norms that were without base.
I'd like to say that I'm just your average guy, but the simple fact of the matter is that I'm not. I've experienced more in my 25 years of life than many have in their entire lives. I'm not trying to brag; I'm simply stating a fact. They say that life is hard for everyone and we all struggle with problems. My life never fit that model. No matter what has happened to me, I've found that my lifestyle and philosophies have helped me to prosper and thrive where the common man would have struggled.
To me, life is 90% examination and 10% action. Only when know what we are trying to accomplish, why we do what we do, and what role we play in the larger picture, can we focus that 10% and make it count. I've found that living a life that is moral, acting in the greater good, reverent, and optimistic to be the equation to a happy life that everyone seems to be in search of, but so few find.
While I am planning on writing a book on understanding true optimism, I first need to work on my career. In the mean time, the best way I can get that message out there is by simply posting various ideas as I write them as an example of how I think and allowing the reader to draw their own conclusions of how that thought fits into the bigger picture. Through the internet, I'm able to reach and help many who I'd never have a chance to otherwise. If you're interested, feel free to check out any of the essays in the writer section.
